Flower of Venus: The most beautiful relationship.
Oh shining star – thou wearing the number five.
You were the first I saw when I’ve arrived.
Thanks to you I am seeing what my own legacy is.
During the thousands of years that my soul has been around,
You are in heaven, so big, so far, I’ve tried to grab you.
You are in everything, my blood, the plants, my DNA.
You’re so small, I can’t find you.
My heart reminds me: everything I do, I do for you, it will always be like this.
It is a long time that our spirits have played catch,
Just like Earth and Venus dance across the solar system.
I can be alone enjoying your well-being from afar.
You will be the last that I have perceived when leaving from here.

The brightest point in the sky is Venus. It is the planet closest to us and every 584 days it passes right between sun and earth. The tiny loops result when Venus moves retrograde or backwards. Seen from earth (geocentric perspective), this harmony results in a beautiful geometry: in the center appears a five-pointed star – the “Flower of Venus”. One turn takes exactly 8 years from Earth (99.9%) and 13 Venusian-years (99.9%), which means for us that every 8 years Venus can be found exactly at the same point in the sky.

In the background, right under the ship, you can see the brown-mantled oystercatcher (Haematopus palliatus), locally also called “Pilpilén”. This bird is something very special and occurs here on the beach of the Chilean Central Coast. The nest is a simple depression in the sand. The brood consists of 2-3 eggs and incubation lasts between 24 and 29 days. Recently, in Chile this bird has been threatened by inexperience and ignorance, because the eggs are often destroyed by heavy vehicles that drive through the dunes for pleasure. All inhabitants of the coast can take care of the Pilpilén and denounce any danger for its existence. People who walk or drive on the beach are often unaware of the damage they are doing to the Chilean heritage. This is why the inhabitants of the coast might explain it to the ignorant.
